Chapter 4.4 - School Holidays.. woohoo~!!
it was amazing how some little small event like this can hav a huge effect.. some things doesnt quite make sense though.. if any of u realize before, most of the traffic jams happens after school time started.. is it because parents drop their kids in school 1st? or was it because school holidays also means holidays to the parents(yea.. malaysia is known for having much to often.. for the gov sector at least) as well..
anyways.. im not complaining.. i find it rather interesting to hav a change once in a while.. not stuck in jam.. reaching to class on time..
*lol.. jz got perli from lecturer.. guess dat's my cue.. *
having lunch + movie wit a friend later.. gonna watch wall-e.. woohoo~!!
*now where can i find a nice wogok noodles in kl?

(Review) It's Alive..It's Aliveee!!
first of all.. what's it all about, do i hear? well, first of all, this is rather a romantic comedy type of movie.. so whoever isnt into this type of movie, i suggest u stop reading tis instant and run along now.. *tries to sound british*
well now.. *clear throat*, if everybody is ready, i would very much like to start my review now.. *ok i'll drop the fake british slang now..*
the whole movie started with a quarrel.. ok.. its more of a talk actually.. between a care taker and the employee.. the set took place in britain, in the 1930's.. so we can see the status differentious between the rich and famous, and the poor and homeless..
Miss Pettigrew, a poor homeless caretaker(and money less also) was at desperation when she was fired without getting her pay. she stole a contact card from the job agency and ended up at the front door of a young star-to-be
the star(who has a rather long name, which i did not even bother to remember) played by Amy Adams *drools* was a mess.. had relationship with 3 men, a son of a producer, a club owner and an old friend. too make things short, pettigrew helped the star to open her eyes, wake up and see her the truth.. she helped her to realize who's her real love.. umm... stuff like dat.. its like she was blinded with the rich and famous lifestyle that she had forgotten who she was and her dreams.. basically pettigrew jz get her back on the right track..
it's a really simple movie, with good props and settings, and aweseme songs.. i hav to say, i love the songs in it.. most of them are from the golden ages.. 30's-40's.. swing, jazz.. ahh.. i jz love em.. Amy Adams even sang 'If I Didn't Care'.. which was my personal all time favourite.. and it was breathtaking.. i think i like her's better than the original version by 'The Ink Spot'..
anyways.. this movie isnt just for the ladies.. there isnt much mushy stuff in it.. but there was no thrilling action part either.. i'd give it a 7/10..

Chapter 4.3 - Lucky day..
apart from that.. nothing interesting happened.. the college admins were busy with some independence day celebration.. oh.. and the multicultural night thingy which is happening this Friday(22nd Aug 08).. it's my final year.. should i go? will it be fun? what's gonna happen there? sigh.. so many questions..
at least the lecturer let us off early today.. he said it's coz some of us might wanna go prepare for the independence performance.. but.. c'mon.. we all know he juz ran outta stuff to teach us.. coz we finish our tutorial like in 15mins.. i bet he wasn't expecting that we gonna complete 'em so fast... hohoho...
anyways.. i didnt wait to watch the performance.. coz i saw the sky had cleared up.. time to go jog.. haven't been able to jog for few days already now coz of the rain.. so i walked to my car with Ashwar(haha.. happy now ur name is mentioned here?).. then i noticed some kind of red paper crumble on the roadside.. it look familiar.. so i picked it up.. "ooh.. 10 bucks.. lol.. this gonna be my petrol money for the day.." Ash laughed..
guess mondays are not as bad as i think.. =D
o[ x_x"]o
Chapter 4.2 - Facelift
anyways.. it's monday again.. sigh..
had to wake up early this morning.. coz i had to send my sister to 'Perhentian Duta'. she's currently on holiday rite now, so she decided to pay a visit to our parents and grannies at hometown..
her bus is schedule to depart at 9am.. so, taking morning traffic jam into consideration, we left the house before 8am.. which means, i hav to wake up by 7am.. not fun when i only able to fall asleep at 4.30am..
well, i forgot that it is school holiday season.. meaning, the road are pretty much empty.. meaning i did not hav to wake up so fudging early.. sigh.. anyways.. i reach the bus station in less then 30 mins time..
now.. my class only started at 10.35am.. so for the first time, i took my sweet time driving to college.. my odometer never went over 90km/h.. 30 mins later, i've reach my college.. still hav another hour and a half to spare.. what to do..? what to do..?
since i got so much time, i went to the lab.. got online.. check my mails and facebook and my blog.. dat's when i saw it.. "ooh, nuffnang finally add some advertisement on my blog.. yay~!". well.. i never try this sort of things before(so its a big deal to me).. i'm really looking forward to reach the targeted clicks and get paid(so please click on the advertisement everyday aite!) =D..
*looking at the time*
ok.. i still have around 30 mins to kill.. now what..?
p/s: i still hate mondays..

(Review) My first Korean Meal..
so this place is called Restaurant Haeun Khon.. it's located at 3rd floor of Amcorp Mall..
well, at 1st look, the shop looks kinda small for its reputation.. i just googled the restaurant name just now and apparently many bloggers had review this place and i can say, most of them gave the restaurant a good rating..
the interior is kinda average.. but i think they had too many tables and chairs cramp into the shop.. so its kinda difficult for the waiter to move around to send the food to the person who sit at the inner side of the table, when the chairs are blocking the way.. but the service is pretty good i must admit.. the waiters n waitresses are very polite and uses words like 'please' and 'thank you'.. which i must say, is a quite rare sight in KL..
and then, comes the food.. the restaurant has 3 range of food to select from.. chinese, korean and japanese.. but of coz, their specialty is towards korean food. pricing seems reasonable.. ranging from Rm4++ per item to Rm18++ per set.. since this was my first time, my friends suggested that i tried the Kimchi Soup(spicy pickled vegie soup with meat) meal set.. there were 5 of us, so we ordered 3 sets of Kimchi Soup meal set, 1 set of Chicken Bulbogi(chicken with black pepper) and 1 Japanese Chicken Pizza(well.. its like a pizza with chicken and onions topping with fish flakes).
the Kimchi Soup set came with a bowl of rice, a plate of Kimchi, a plate of mixed vegie, a plate of Japanese Tofu, a bowl of Kimchi Soup(duhh~).. and 2 slices of papaya for desert..
well.. i must warn everyone, the chopstick that they give is very flat, thin and is made out of metal.. so its kinda heavy and hard to hold.. for a person who never had any problems with chopstick before, i find it very ridiculous that i had to adjust my chopstick like every 10 mins.. luckily they provide spoon as well.. the food itself for me is quite good.. again, this is because it is my 1st time.. so i have nothing to compare it with.. but since i did not find anything that i dun like about it, i guess it must be quite good.. the soup itself is kinda spicy.. me being a thai, i dun really find it is 'that' spicy as my friends claimed.. i've tried something so spicy that i dare not to touch it again before.. but this one.. i manage to finish it.. with me soaking in sweat of coz.. but that was because the store itself was quite warm(really).. the pizza was really nice.. even though im no much of a fan of fish, the fish flakes really goes well with the pizza.. the soft chicken meat, juicy onions and nice crunchy base.. i really like it.. highly recommend to everyone..
the whole meal cost us around rm18++ per person including drinks.. and its quite filling as well.. so i really think its really worth it.. highly recommended to those who wants to try out some budget + taste good korean meal.. so head down to this address to have a taste of it.. =D

(Review) Everyone, This is Dave..
this is a very fun, family, relaxing, out of this world movie. i hav to admit, eddie murphie was amazing. he actually plays two roles in the movie, one as a human size robo-spaceship and the other one as the captain of the spaceship.
to make things short, a bunch of tiny humanoid alien from the planet nil, travel to earth to steal the water from the sea in order to save their own planet from destruction. travelling in 'spaceship dave', they landed at the liberty statue island and their 1st mission is to locate the sphere(a device that is sent earlier to do the 'stealing' job).
during the mission to recover the sphere, the Nilians(the aliens), discovered new things about human like feelings and emotion, which they never knew about before.. this is where the fun parts begin.
their mission to steal water became a mission to save earth when the 'evil' no.2, the 2nd in command, takes over the spaceship and throw the captain off-board. it is up to the captain and the rest of his crew to take control back of the spaceship and save earth.
overall, it really is a very enjoyable movie.. i highly recommend it to anyone who wants to laugh their socks off. i rate this movie a good 7/10.

Chapter 4.1 - Death.. The End or Is It The Beginning..?
so there i was, about to post another random/silly comment.. and i noticed that the picture was tagged or rather used in a group.. the group name caught my eye and i though to myself that this must be one hell of a cruel joke to play on someone coz it read "in loving memories of...". so i click on it expecting someone to laugh or the person herself to be angry with the joke. then i realize.. its not a joke..
the person really was 'taken' from her family and friends, due to a bus accident. i was in shocked for a moment.. i was speechless.. coz as i remember, when i added this friend of mine to my friendlist, there were comments going about with her photos and stuff(i cant really remember if this was before or after the accident happened).. it never cross my mine that she was gone..
to be honest, i dont even know who she was.. we never talk or met before.. and she probably dont even know i existed.. but somewhere deep inside me, i can feel the sorrow, emptiness, pain and sadness.. like a part of me is being ripped out.. i never had anyone so close 'taken' from me before.. the closest i could remember, would be my grandfather.. but that was when i was 9.. and i hardly remember him coz back then, my family and i had already migrated to kl... so i only saw him during long school holidays..
i do remember him bringing back goodies for his grandchildren whenever we went back to visit.. my dad always tells me that he was a great man.. even though he's very strict with his children, he still make sure that all his children get proper education.. and people respected him for who he is.. 1 think that i will alwiz remember about him is this saying.
"..my father rides a bicycle to travel, he made sure his children live a better life. i get to ride a motorcycle. now im making sure my children will lead a better life than me. they will drive a car.."
i guess my dad live a pretty successful life coz.. well.. he has one of the lucky to be able to get out from the village and moved to the city.. not only that he get the chance to drive a car, he now has 4 cars to drive(well, kelisa is still a car =P).. so im guessing now, since my dad's generation's transportation method is a car, i guess my generation had to do better.. a train? airplane maybe? i wonder if lrt and airasia count?
anyways.. back to my friend's friend story.. she was suppose to reach kl sometime in the evening, and my friend planned to take her for dinner later that night.. when her bus was late than expected arrival time, my friend made a call to his house asking if the girl had called home since he cant get through her line.. never pass through his mind that she was already gone. to think that she could be at the wrong bus, the wrong seat at the wrong time.. she was among the few who were 'taken' that evening..
R.I.P
Lee Nian Ning(1987 - 2008)
i do believe that everything that happens always hav a reason.. mayb she's off for a greater purpose.. mayb her end is a new beginning for something new.. something beautiful.. perhaps..
*btw, i always hav this believe that whenever someone died, another was born at the same time.. just imagine if babies were born but no one dies.. earth would be a very busy place..*
after reading most of the comments and browse through the links in the group, i remembered that my friend(who i mention earlier) is boarding a bus this evening.. so i quickly left a message for my friend to take care of herself and be extra careful.. i know that accidents involving bus are quite rare, but i cant help but being worry for her safety.. all i can do for now is jz pray for her safe travel and wish nothing went wrong through out the whole time while she's on the bus..

Chapter 3.3 - Story of the day
A and B were friends.. they grew closer and became a couple.. both of them hav different believe and decided to break up, but still remain as friends.. A had moved on, and thought that B had too.. unfortunately B hasn't.. first B tries to avoid A whenever possible, A understand that B probably just need some time to adjust..
Almost a year had passed, A tries to be friend with B again.. B show sign that B had moved on.. Again.. it is not what it really is.. B still had something for A secretly.. A had no other choice and can't do anything to make things any better..
A knows that they both can never get back together ever again.. A now just think of B as a good friend and sometimes, A kinda get the feeling that B's friends are trying to set them back up again.. but apparently A is kinda get tired of all this..
A thinks that B's friend should stop it and B should move on already.. because all this is making things real hard for A... Whatever A do, A feels like all A's moves is being watched.. like being stalked.. which is kinda scary.. anyways..
what do y'all think?
p/s: A is fine with wutever the decision B made.. if B decide to totally cuts all relation with A, A can understand and accept it.. if B finally decide to move on and be friends with A again is also still fine with A.. as long as B understand that A and B can never be together again.. =)

(Review) Sarah Marshall is forgotten..
the whole movie is basically about a guy trying to get over his ex-girlfriend. to make things short, its a bout a guy, got dumped by his chick, life was miserable, goes to hawaii to cool off, unexpectedly met ex-gf there, guy tries to forget ex, met a girl there, sparks happens, ex got jealous, ex want guy back, guy made a wrong decision, guy turn ex down, had a fight wit girl, guy went back to the states, improve himself, finally finish his long dream work, guy invite girl to attend his show, not sure if girl will come, but girl attend, guy kisses girl, and happily ever after.. ohh and not to forget some nudity along the movie.. well.. what's new?
personally i think the whole concept is not so original. kinda saw many movies with the same storyline before.. take the heart breaker kid for instance, the part where 'guy had so much fun with girl, and fell in love, and then girl know the truth, had a fight, meet back sometime later in the movie' is kinda similar..
anyways, it still hav great casting.. kristen bells plays sarah marshall and boy, was she hot.. and not to forget mila kunis.. she had the perfect smile.. makes u kinda feel bad for hating her character in the 70's show. i would give the movie a 5/10.

Chapter 3.1 - Have I ever tell you..
since i've develop an interest in these things, i cant help my itchy hand to play wit it.. a teacher saw me playing wit it, and i guess she's kinda impress coz i know how to handle it.. so she assigned me as the school's photographer.. fun part is, i get to do wut i love anytime i want.. and i literally mean anytime.. there's even this one teacher who trusted me with his rm2k semi-auto focus camera.. i was in heaven.. but of coz, back then i knew shit about cameras.. so it made no different wut camera it is..
after spm, no more free access to the camcoder and camera.. until i got my k750i.. it came with a 2MP camera.. finally my very own camera.. sure its not that good, but at least it is mine and i get to snap pictures anytime.. but again it only lasted for awhile.. coz its now spoiled.. guess it flashed my phone much too often, now the camera isnt working anymore..

iBand Video Is a Hit on YouTub
Three art students from Austria have pushed the envelope a bit further, hacking into their iPhones -- a big no-no, from Apple's perspective -- and loading them with music-playing software, which they have used to record songs. The videos they put on YouTube last month of what they call the first iBand have been drawing heavy traffic from technophiles and curiosity-seekers.
Their debut video, posted Feb. 17 and briefly the top-featured video on the site, is fairly rudimentary, from a musical perspective at least: In what the band describes as a "jam session," one iPhone plays keyboard software, another plays a virtual guitar program and a Nintendo DS video game player plays percussion. The result is more songlike noise than melody.
But the fascination was instant: The three were immediately deluged with requests for interviews, for copies of the song and for information about the software and equipment they had used.
They acknowledge being somewhat startled, and said by e-mail that they were trying to figure out how to "deal with the situation."
"We did our first video as an example of what could be done with the new music applications that are used, and to present our idea of an iBand," wrote one of the band members, Seb, in response to e- mailed questions.
Seb, who is 24, said that the other band members were Marina, 26, and Roger, 25, and that they preferred not to give their surnames to preserve their privacy. "We are all students of different fields of art, and share our interest in making music as well as modern media," Seb wrote.
The original video had been viewed more than two million times by Sunday, and more than 13,000 viewers had left comments. Some people reviewed the music itself ("Needs some iDrums" "ALL of them have tempo problems") but others just effused at the novelty ("OMG AWESOME.").
Enough viewers found the video so mesmerizing that the band was prompted to post a message on its Web site, at www.iband.at: "Some of you requested an MP3 version of the jam session. Unfortunately, the quality is too bad so we really can't release it. I mean, honestly we still need some practice guys and we're also still lacking a third iPhone. We'll release an MP3 when we have a real song. That happened last Wednesday, when the students, who are from Vienna, put up their second video, this one more sophisticated. Using two iPhones and an iPod Touch (but no Nintendo), the trio, wearing fingerless gloves, plays an original composition called "Life Is Greater Than the Internet," with vocals, in accented English, by Marina.
While the jam session took just an hour to record, the second opus required a lot more work, Seb said: The band spent two sleepless days and nights composing, practicing and recording the video, taking considerably more time to light the scene, set up the camera and mix the tracks.
The viewers who left comments were mostly impressed, though there was a smattering of snide quips ("What if you would have got a phone call???").
Two more videos quickly followed, both showing an iPhone playing virtual drums. In one, the song is indeed interrupted by a phone call, on purpose.
"To use the iPhone as a musical instrument isn't about getting a technically perfect song together," Seb wrote. "It has very innovative input methods, but we could also use any sort of synthesizer and full band equipment; with today's technology there are no limitations. But we think that exactly the limitation is what creates a spirit. Of all possible things you can do with a mobile phone, what could be more meaningful than to create music?"
The group's goal, he said, is to work with other people who are developing music applications for the iPhone. The band is offering Marina's first song free on its Web site and accepting donations from those who download it.
For those who cannot wait to try this at home, a word of caution: To install these programs on an iPhone or iPod Touch requires the user to "jailbreak" the devices, modifying the software to allow the phone to accept third-party applications. This voids the product's warranty. "We don't support unlocked iPhones," an Apple spokeswoman said.
Although Apple discourages it, jailbreaking is quite simple; instructions are posted on various Web sites.
Kouji: looks like in the near future, artist will do their recordings via their mobile phone at the comfort of their own home.. how nice..o[ x_x"]o
Adobe Says Apple's SDK Blocks Flash on iPhone
The report, first cited in The Wall Street Journal on Tuesday, said Adobe had begun work on a Flash player for the iPhone. The Journal cited remarks by Adobe Chief Executive Shantanu Narayen, who reportedly made the comments during a conference call with investors. He said Apple's recent release of a software developers kit (SDK) gave his company the tools it needed to create a media player for the popular iPhone.
The Fine Print
According to news reports, Narayen said Adobe had evaluated the SDK and "we think we can develop an iPhone Flash player ourselves."
Adobe said Wednesday it has "evaluated the iPhone SDK and can now start to develop a way to bring Flash Player to the iPhone." But it added, "to bring the full capabilities of Flash to the iPhone Web-browsing experience" the company needs to work with Apple for capabilities beyond what the SDK allows.
One of the problems is the SDK's fine print, which is being interpreted by many observers as prohibiting the kind of plug-in capabilities offered by Flash. To use the SDK for those purposes, Adobe would need cooperation and permission from Apple.
Earlier this month, following persistent reports on various Web blogs that Flash on the iPhone was imminent, Apple CEO Steve Jobs said the current Flash mobile player is not ready for the iPhone.
He said Flash Lite, designed for mobile devices, is not powerful enough, and regular Flash, designed for full-featured computers, runs too slowly on the iPhone. "There's this missing product in the middle," he told the Dow Jones news service.
Developers Looking Elsewhere?
Jeffrey Hammond, an analyst with industry research firm Forrester, said it was "interesting to see the discontinuity of Apple's approach to all this." He noted that Apple is promoting the iPhone as offering the full Web, but Flash is a key part of that environment.
There appear to be more restrictions emerging from the conditions surrounding the SDK, he said, plus Apple takes a "hefty cut" from purchased applications on its new App Store. He said Apple is acting in the protective way that telephone companies have acted for years.
Hammond said he is detecting "a certain amount of frustration" among developers. The more barriers Apple puts in front of developers, he noted, the more they will look for other platforms.
In particular, he pointed out that Google's open-source Android platform for mobile devices could be a more fertile ground for third-party applications. Additionally, Microsoft recently announced it is licensing Flash Lite for future versions of Windows Mobile.Kouji: Another reason not to get an iPhone.. hahahha

Sony Launches Full-Length Mobile TV Movies
Sony Pictures is gearing up for full-length movies on AT&T mobile phones. The movie giant on Monday launched PIX, a domestic network for mobile phones that will let viewers watch selections from the studio's library.
Offering films from Columbia Pictures, Tri-Star, ScreenGems and Sony Pictures Classics, the new service will include a catalog of movies across all genres. The films will be accompanied by added-value material. Titles will be available for up to one month, with films added weekly. Some of the first titles to be offered include Bugsy, Ghostbusters, The Karate Kid, and Stand By Me. Subscribers of AT&T Mobile TV, launching in May, will be the first with access to PIX.
"PIX will give viewers their own personal movie theater wherever they take their mobile phones," said Eric Berger, vice president of mobile entertainment for Sony Pictures Television. "With an incredible library of quality Hollywood hits, it's a mobile destination channel for convenient, enjoyable entertainment, and the latest offering in SPT's distinctive portfolio of mobile games and video."
Getting Off the Couch
Sony is reportedly in talks with other U.S. carriers to offer PIX, but did not give details about which other companies might be picking up the service. The pricing models for the new network have not been announced, though analysts said individual carriers will likely set their own pricing schemes. Some carriers may choose to offer PIX free with an ad-supported model. Others could choose to charge per movie.
A longtime concern with mobile TV has been the size of the screens. According to William Ho, a wireless services analyst at Current Analysis, handset makers are working to develop devices with larger screens that offer clearer images. Even so, he cautioned, mobile TV appeals to a different audience than the typical couch-potato viewer.
"Get the being-on-a-couch thing out of your head. You are in an airport. You are killing time between your kids' soccer games. In those cases, mobile movies could be compelling," Ho said. "If you are really busy, you won't go out of your way to watch mobile TV. But if you have time for it, you could jump into a movie."
Jumping into the Future
Jumping in may be an issue for some consumers, though. Sony is taking a broadcast TV-schedule approach with PIX. That means consumers may or may not get stuck in the airport at a time when a movie they want to watch is just beginning. It takes an astute user, Ho noted, to jump into a movie he or she has never seen and pick up the plot in midstream. Sony may, however, be moving to an on-demand model in the future, according to news reports.
"Mobile TV is the direction we're heading," Ho said. "I was talking to Qualcomm. They look at it as akin to the adoption of cable. In the old days, everyone was watching broadcast TV with rabbit ears, and then cable came along and showed that people will pay for programming. In the case of mobile TV, the paid model comes first, and the free will come later."Kouji: Imagine if they implement this in Malaysia, how much would we be spending on phone monthly.
